For this YuE2 vs Suno V6 test we ran the same three sets of lyrics through both models and put the audio side by side, with the time each one took.

The short answer
YuE2 vs Suno V6: what did the test show?
YuE2 is an open model you download and run; Suno V6 is a hosted one. Both turned all three lyrics into a complete song with vocals and a full arrangement. YuE2-3B, run on a public Hugging Face Space, reported 43 to 77 seconds of generation time per song and returned one version per run. Suno V6, called the same way YueMusic calls it, returned two versions within about 49 seconds of each request.
The larger difference was getting a run at all. YuE2's model card asks for a 24 GB NVIDIA GPU if you run it yourself, and the public Space we used accepted roughly one song a day without a Hugging Face account. Suno V6 ran from a browser tab with no setup.
We do not say which one sounds better. Every clip below is the first result of a single run, so press play and judge the vocals, the lyrics and the arrangement yourself. If you want a number, M-A-P's own benchmark is in the tables below, and its blind listening arena lets you vote between anonymous clips.

The lyrics are original and were written for this test. YuE2 audio was saved as 48 kHz stereo FLAC and converted to MP3 for this page; Suno V6 audio is the MP3 the API returned. The three lyrics are not the same length, so compare within each pair.

YuE2-3B times are the figures the Space printed after each run, on its shared GPU; from request to file, the same runs took 84, 64 and 121 seconds. Suno V6 times are from request to finished audio through the API provider YueMusic uses. Our pipeline checks for the result at intervals of up to 15 seconds, which is why the three readings match; the true figures may be a few seconds lower. Each request returned two versions, and the length shown is the first one.

The choice
YuE2 or Suno V6: which one fits you?
It comes down to hardware and how much control you want over the notes.

You have a 24 GB NVIDIA GPU and a Linux setup, or you are willing to queue on a public Space. You want to edit the melody and chords in a score and render the song again. You want the weights on your own disk.

You have no GPU and want to work in a browser tab. You want two versions back from every request. You would rather change the lyrics or the style line and run again than edit a score.
The two models
What is YuE2, and what is Suno V6?
YuE2 is an open music generation model from M-A-P (Multimodal Art Projection), published on Hugging Face in September 2026 as YuE2-3B. You give it lyrics and a style prompt and it returns a complete song with vocals and accompaniment as 48 kHz stereo audio.
Before any audio, YuE2 writes a score in ABC notation with the melody and chords, and you can edit that score and render the song again. A setting called cot picks the plan: full (melody and chords, the default), melody, or off.
Suno V6 is a hosted song model from Suno. You reach it through Suno's own app or, as on YueMusic, through an API provider; there are no weights to download. It also takes lyrics and a style description and returns finished songs with vocals.
Setup
What does it take to run YuE2 yourself?
The model card lists Linux, Python 3.10 or newer and a 24 GB NVIDIA GPU with BF16 support, plus 24 GB of free system memory. You install the inference package with pip and the weights download from Hugging Face on first use.
On that hardware it is quick. M-A-P reports about 71 seconds for a 3.6-minute song on an RTX 4090 in full mode, with peak GPU memory around 11 GiB, one song at a time. The same table shows a peak of 14.08 GiB at maximum context.
If you already use ComfyUI, the YuE repository lists native YuE2 nodes and a text-to-music workflow template. We have not tested that route.
Without the GPU, the practical routes are the browser demo linked from the YuE repository or a public Hugging Face Space. A Space is how we made the three YuE2 clips on this page, and where we met the daily quota described above.
Online
Where can you try YuE2 online?
The YuE repository on GitHub links to a browser demo hosted by NOIZ at yue.noizai.net, along with a page of demo songs and a blind listening arena where you vote between anonymous clips. We have not tested the NOIZ demo.
Public Hugging Face Spaces also run the open weights in a browser, with a queue and a GPU quota. We used adexinc/yue2-studio for this test because it shows the mode and seed for each run. Other websites carry the YuE2 name; we can't speak for them.
YueMusic is not YuE2. It is not affiliated with M-A-P and does not run the YuE2 model.
Our engine
Which one does YueMusic use, and why?
YueMusic generates every song with Suno V6, reached through a third-party API provider. The Suno V6 clips on this page came from that same pipeline.
The reasons are practical: a hosted model needs no GPU on our side or yours, each request returns two versions to choose from, and none of the three requests in this test ran into a quota.
